Last night, the University of Melbourne reopened the Old Quad at its Parkville campus, a new chapter in the life of this most iconic building that stems from 1854 and was the first university building in Australia to commence construction. It is also where the foundation stone of the University was laid by the Lieutenant-Governor of Victoria, Sir Charles Hotham, in July 1854.

On Friday 5 April, a panel of precinct development and design experts shared their insight on the increasing importance of precincts in shaping and sharing a communal story of our cities and people.  The panel involved leading designers and planners from ARM Architecture, Hodyl + Co, HASSELL, CityLab, The University of Melbourne, Monash University and Slattery.

500 Women in Property is an exciting initiative of the Property Council of Australia’s state Diversity committees to cultivate women in the sector. Slattery is delighted to take part again, with this year, our managing director Sarah Slattery and Directors Mark Cathie, James Dennis and Mark Pickerill involved as mentors, and five women from our Sydney and Melbourne offices chosen to participate.

Slattery hosted a group of leading designers, planners and CEOs in a dynamic panel discussion in Perth this week, facilitated by Slattery Director of Clients and Strategy, Belinda Coates. Topics included the economic value derived from cultural tourism in Perth and the impact it can bring to commercial, tertiary, hotel and retail sectors.

Slattery is delighted to announce that Prahran High School, designed by Gray Puksand, was officially opened last week. Slattery provided full cost management services on this unique project for Victoria, one of the first vertical schools to be built under the Department of Education’s program of inner-city education redevelopment.

Slattery is delighted to welcome 16 students to the annual Slattery Student Program to be held throughout February. We welcome three students to our Brisbane Office, five to Melbourne, six to Sydney and two to Perth.

Josh Slattery and Tom Dean will participate in the 2019 Chain Reaction Victoria Challenge. The challenge is aimed to raise awareness for well respected children's charities by cycling from Sydney to Melbourne.
