Combining our company sponsorship with active participation by Slattery staff,  on Friday 16 November, 3 Slattery teams took part in Property Industry Foundation Tour de PIF 2018, riding on the wilder side of the Mornington Peninsula at Cape Schanck. The event brought together professionals from across the property for a fantastic day of fundraising and networking.

The day raised over $65,000 for Whitelion / Open Family Australia’s Chatterbox Street Outreach Program which provides after-hours assertive outreach to young people aged 12 to 25 years who are regularly on the streets, homeless, at risk of homelessness and/or engaged in risk-taking behaviour.

Running since 2002, The Chatterbox provides multiple services, from intensive support to brief interventions, helping young people with basics such as food or clothing and health supplies to linking them to services they require. By engaging with young people at night on the CBD streets, their qualified outreach workers can provide timely advice and form a connection to follow up during the day, giving young people who are in this predicament very real support to make change at a critical time in their lives.

Executive Chairman Josh Slattery purchased through an additional fund-raising auction professional cyclist Mark O’Brien for his team, eventually winning the team’s classification for ‘King of the Mountain’. Congratulations to Josh Slattery, David Kelly, Amy Bradley, Peter Riseley, and Andy Butler.

Whilst cold to start with, as the day went,  it turned out to be a beautiful day for riding.

Participants riding for Slattery teams included Josh Slattery, David Kelly (both Slattery) with peers from fellow companies who join us to ride for PIF: Amy Bradley, Stuart Verrier, Ben White , Ben Patrick, Dale Martin, James Wewer, Brian McAdam, Michael Jansen, Ray Feile, Ashley Bleeker, Cameron Brindley, Peter Riseley, David Short, Brooke Starbuck, Andy Butler, and Mark O’Brien.
