We are delighted to announce the appointment of David Martin as our new CEO, heralding a transformative era of growth for Slattery.

David Martin takes the reins from Sarah Slattery, who has led the firm for the past seven years.

Executive Chairman Josh Slattery says David brings exceptional leadership expertise to the role and will support an ambitious growth agenda.

“David has been an advisor to the Slattery Board for two years. David’s market knowledge, commercial experience, industry network and deep understanding of our business will help us achieve our strategic priorities.”

Sarah Slattery will step into a new role as Director of Partnerships and Innovation and will remain on Slattery’s Board.

“Sarah’s strong commitment to collaboration and client-focused service has expanded our footprint and strengthened our brand in the market. We want to continue to grow our business and the best way to do that is for Sarah to focus on strategic growth opportunities,” Josh says.

With Sarah Slattery at the helm, we’ve increased our geographical presence and now have offices in five capital cities and 130 employees. A series of firsts under her leadership has strengthened our reputation as an industry pace setter, notably in sustainability and workplace diversity and inclusion.

Slattery was Australia’s first national quantity surveying firm to:

  • be led by a woman;
  • launch a carbon planning service;
  • have two Innovate Reconciliation Action Plans endorsed; and
  • become Carbon Neutral.

Sarah is currently Chair of the Green Building Council of Australia’s Responsible Products Advisory Group, a member of the Greenstar Advisory Committee and a member of the Australian Construction Industry Forum Forecasting Council.

“At Slattery, we’ve always known our business is about much more than managing budgets. We partner with people to create better places and stronger communities. We have forged enduring partnerships across the industry over many years, and I am looking forward to supporting Slattery’s next phase of growth,” Sarah says.

David Martin, who commenced as CEO of Slattery on 3 June 2024, has more than 25 years’ experience in leadership and executive management roles across a diverse range of industries. A qualified engineer, David was CEO of global architecture practice Buchan Group for three years. Most recently, as CEO of property valuation and consulting firm M3 Property, David has overseen a period of rapid growth.

“Slattery’s people have the skills and capabilities to solve our clients’ most complex challenges. I am looking forward to leading a team of engaged, talented and innovative thinkers and practitioners as we deliver positive and long-lasting outcomes on our clients’ projects and in our communities,” David concludes.
