Slattery is delighted to have been engaged to provide cost management services for the remaining phases of the Powerhouse Museum Parramatta. Having previously provided quantity surveying services for the international design competition, we look forward to working with the winning design team architects Moreau Kusunoki (France) and Genton (Australia).
Marking the largest cultural investment since the Sydney Opera House, the creation of this new precinct ‘represents the most important cultural transformation of the institution’ and a ‘major shift in how Sydney thinks about itself, its culture and its communities’; all with First Nations’ culture at its core.
First established in 1879, the new Powerhouse Museum will be an active, 24-hour precinct that provides world class education, research and community facilities, such as the ‘Powerlab’; digital studios to support the music and screen industries alongside co-working, education and community spaces with an integrated research library and teaching kitchen. While active night-time programs mean that the Powerhouse will significantly contribute to the regeneration of Paramatta’s night-time economy.
Slattery is currently delivering some of Australia’s most significant precincts including the Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation, The University of Melbourne New Student Precinct, Childrens Health and Research Institute and Crows Nest Station.
