We are pleased to see three Slattery projects have made it as finalists for the Property Council of Australia’s Innovation & Excellence Awards! Nominated across multiple categories, the projects are as follows:
Zurich Tower – Best Sustainable Development
Slattery provided full quantity surveying services on this exciting project, to be a new 29 storey (incl. 2 levels of roof top plant and 3 basements) PCA A Grade, 5 star Green Star and 5 star NABERS commercial building with 6 lifts and floor plates in the order of 893m2 NLA.
The project’s objectives include the highest quality architectural and urban design solutions including contextually appropriate which will enhance the precinct and improve the public domain; a creative, contemporary architectural response with high ESD. The building was designed by FJMT.
Monash University’s Woodside Building for Technology and Design – Best Sustainable Development
Slattery worked with Monash University to complete the Woodside Building for Technology and Design at the Clayton campus. Covering 18,000sqm, this building is a significant undertaking for Monash as it aims to deliver an exemplary, immersive teaching and learning facility that ensures industry connections are manifested throughout the architecture. The new building challenges best practices and sets new standards in building design coupled with teaching and learning practices. The building is a Passive House compliant with a unique façade and a timber structure. It was named a ‘sustainable education machine’, winning the top prize in the 2021 Victorian Architecture Awards.
Flinders Gate – Award for Best Workplace Project
180 Flinders is an iconic new development located opposite Federation Square in Melbourne. The building is a mixed-use development comprising an A Grade office tower, restored 1899 Ball & Welch heritage building, and an adjoining refurbished eight-floor building at 189 Flinders Lane. The building works included six new floors on an existing structure – with the provision of new lift cores – and modifying an existing car park to increase capacity.
