Children's Medical Research Institute, NSW

Slattery has been appointed to Stage 2 for the Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI), which will deliver a dedicated state-of-the-art paediatric research facility.

Working at the leading-edge of world research in Cancer, Gene Therapy, Embryology, Neuroscience and Proteogenomics, CMRI will foster the development of revolutionary new treatments amongst many other benefits including training of next generation scientists in a new custom-built facility. The project is currently in master-planning and moving into design phases later this year. Slattery were also involved in the early stages of the CMRI’s development, providing early stages estimates and pricing options that took into account the site’s latent conditions. Our team priced several design options, essentially pricing the possible risk that could arise and working through these with the Project’s Design team to find the best solution.

Further key considerations also include leveraging flexibility and costs to achieve a future-facing research facility, achieving an integrated precinct with neighbouring facilities and clinic service organisations, and managing a multi-phase, live environment.
