Arts West Redevelopment, The University of Melbourne

Slattery was appointed as the cost consultant for this highly architectural building comprising 2,600sqm refurbishment of existing offices, the partial demolition of the existing building and the vertical and sideways extension to provide 5,000sqm of new teaching spaces, a 150 lecture theatre research lounge and 450sqm atrium.

We implemented an action learning research method achieving a value for money Green Star strategy. Arts West has a 5-star Green
Star rating, and has won numerous awards and commendations since it opened in August 2016. It is the vibrant new home of the Bachelor of Arts, giving undergraduates access to world-class spaces. We utilised the BIM model prepared by the consultants as a research tool for quantity verification.
