This National Reconciliation Week and every week, Slattery acknowledges and gives thanks to the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work and operate.
The 2021 theme, ‘More than a word – Reconciliation takes action’ reminds us that this movement is about more than recognising and appreciating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture – it’s about moving towards braver and impactful action.
At Slattery, we pledge to amplify the voices of First Nations Australians.
We pledge to create meaningful opportunities for First Nations Australians through our influence in the property and construction sector.
We pledge to engage with First Nation businesses.
We pledge to take part in cultural learning. We will acknowledge and reflect on the hidden history of Australia. We can then develop informed relationships with First Nations Australians and properly move forward as a community.
This morning, our Sydney office enjoyed a morning tea with catering from the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence. With the Melbourne morning tea postponed due to lockdown, our Melbourne office will attend various virtual events while staff in other states have attended events like the ‘Truth Telling and Hidden Histories’ information session held at the State Library of WA last week.
