To celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day (8 March) the Slattery Melbourne team got together to make care packages for the Melbourne-based charity, Fitted for Work.

The care packages, consisting of hygiene and beauty products generously donated by staff member Sandra Dias and her family, will be provided to disadvantaged women who are currently seeking employment with help from the charity.

Fitted for Work, which has transformed the lives of more than 21,000 women since it began in 2005, seeks to assist women experiencing disadvantage to get work and keep it by providing donated clothes suitable for professional work, mentoring, transition programs and interview services. Their mission is to help women gain the self-esteem and confidence to achieve their goal of sustainable employment. For further information please go to: www.fittedforwork.org

International Women’s Day is a time to recognise the achievements of women around the world whilst recognising the continuing struggle for women to achieve equality. At Slattery we strive to promote gender equality and empower women, recognising the challenges women still face in our own society as well as in the global community. Through our contribution that we hope to brighten the outlook of women experiencing hardship.

We look forward to continuing this tradition in the years to come.
