We are thrilled to share that several Slattery projects have been recognized at the 2022 Australian Institute of Architects Victorian Chapter Awards.
Bendigo TAFE, designed by Architectus, 6 Degrees Architects and SBLA Studio has won the Joseph Reed Award for Urban Design. The revitalisation of the City Campus of Bendigo TAFE includes the refurbishment and reimagining of two heritage buildings as well as two new three-level buildings. Completed with campus streetscapes and complementary landscape, the new City Campus celebrate’s TAFE’s industrial heritage.
Queen and Collins, designed by KTA and BVN has won the Commercial Architecture Award, the Interiors Architecture Award and the Urban Design Award. Queen and Collins also picked up the major Chapter Prize for Melbourne. This striking heritage refurbishment features inspired workplace design, reimagined public spaces and character-filled architecture.
The Myer Music Centre Melbourne Grammar School, designed by Peter Elliot Architects and Urban Design, has won the Educational Architecture Award.
The Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street, designed by Lovell Chen and Bates Smart, has won the Heritage Architecture Award. Located within the historical 1931 Equity Cambers building, the development features 244 hotel rooms, restaurant and supporting executive hospitality spaces.
The Victorian Pride Centre, designed by Brearley Architects and Urbanists and Grant Amon Architects has picked up the The William Wardell Award for Public Architecture. As Australia’s first purpose-built centre for LGBTIQ+ people, this striking building features a dramatic elliptical atrium.
