Slattery is delighted to announce the launch of our inaugural First Nations Scholarship Program.
This opportunity extends to four Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students – 2 in Melbourne (Naarm) and 2 in Sydney (Cadi), who obtain successful entry to a Construction or Engineering related degree for 2022.
Successful candidates will receive two days a week permanent paid employment over the course of their degree, as well as mentoring and career development opportunities. This will run in conjunction with Slattery’s annual Student and Graduate Programs, both of which have seen immense success.
Slattery has developed the initiative with Indigenous Consultant, Yemuraki Egan. A proud Yorta Yorta, Wemba Wemba and Guditjmara Man, Yemma joined Slattery’s RAP Working Group as First Nations representative in 2020.
When Slattery received official endorsement for our ‘Innovate’ Reconciliation Action Plan in February 2021, we committed to creating opportunities which provide First Nations people with increased agency in fulfilling their own hopes and dreams. We know that you cannot be what you cannot see, and we look forward to increasing representation of First Nations Australians in the property and construction industry.
Successful candidates will receive annual financial assistance of $2500 per year as well as two days a week permanent paid employment over the course of their degree, as well as mentoring and career development opportunities. This will run in conjunction with Slattery’s annual Student and Graduate Programs, both of which have seen immense success.
