Slattery has been appointed by Development Victoria to provide services to progress the Melbourne’s Art Precinct Transformation project.

This game changing programme of works will see the delivery of a new icon for Melbourne- National Gallery of Victoria Contemporary, as well as a new Performing Arts Facility at 1 City Road and an elevated pedestrian park, creating a civic spine to St Kilda road, Flinders Street Station and beyond. The new precinct is expected to attract an extra 3 million visitors each year, generating 10,000 jobs during construction and 260 ongoing jobs.

The commitment to this transformation cements Victoria’s reputation as a global creative and cultural destination and will play a leading role in the growth of cultural tourism in the state.

Slattery is thrilled to be working with Development Victoria, a state government organisation who develop and revitalise public buildings and land and ultimately benefitting thousands.

Stephen Cummins, Director at Slattery commented, “The extension and transformation of the Melbourne Arts Precinct is a game-changer for Melbourne. Similar to the Sports and Entertainment Precinct at Melbourne Park & the MCG, the Arts Precinct will become a destination in its own right, vibrant, connected and accessible for all. At Slattery, we have a particular interest in Precincts as well as dedicated Arts & Culture sector team. Our aim is to work on, and add value to all major Precinct developments in the country, so we are thrilled to support Development Victoria and their stakeholders on the exciting journey ahead.”

Slattery is excited to see how this project progresses and what it will bring to our future.
