Slattery’s projects take out national accolades and highest honour in the Property Council of Australia’s Innovation and Excellence Awards
Two projects, which Slattery provided quantity surveying and cost management services for, have picked up national awards in the Property Council of Australia’s Innovation and Excellence Awards Gala Dinner. The Geelong Library and Heritage Centre (GLHC) and 5 Martin Place in New South Wales were awarded on May 5 for their innovative and cost-effective design.
The GLHC was awarded for Best Public Building. Comprising eight levels with beautiful, inspiring and inclusive spaces for reading, studying, meeting and discovering, the project was awarded for its unwavering vision and technology driven world-class design.
5 Martin Place, owned by Dexus Property Group and Cbus Property, picked up three national awards, including Best Office Development and Best Sustainable Development – Existing Buildings. It was also crowned the Australian Development of the Year Award, the industry’s most coveted prize.
5 Martin Place combines the intricacies of a significant heritage restoration project, with a modern commercial office tower, to deliver one of the most inspired and innovative commercial workspaces in Australia. An exhilarating landmark in Sydney’s commercial and civic heart, 5 Martin Place, has been reinstated as a monument to Australian ingenuity and architectural excellence for the next century.
Slattery Commercial and Workplace Sector Leader Barry Laycock said he was delighted to see the project team recognised for their efforts and congratulated clients Dexus and Cbus Property for the win.

Director and State Lead Victoria, Sarah Slattery said the awards represent the dedication and hard work of the project teams.
“Both projects have demonstrated exceptional architecture and drawn on innovation, leadership and strong teamwork which has seen the projects delivered on time and on budget,” she said.
The Property Council not only honoured the achievements of Australia’s projects and companies, but also honoured future leaders who have made outstanding contributions to the continued growth of the industry.
