From March 7-14, Slattery Director Tom Dean rode 1000 kilometres from Hobart to Devonport for the 2020 Chain Reaction Charity Bike Ride Challenge.
Slattery has supported Chain Reaction over the past 10 years and is thrilled to see that the 2020 challenge raised over $950,000 in donations, with Tom personally raising close to $11,500 in support of Very Special Kids and the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Starlight Children’s Foundation has been a Chain Reaction supported charity since the ride’s foundation in 2007. Funds from Chain Reaction Challenge help SCF to operate the Starlight Express Room 7 days a week at the Monash Children’s Hospital. The Starlight Express Room is the place where kids can forget about being sick in hospital and just be kids.
Very Special Kids cares for children with life-threatening conditions by providing a children’s hospice and professional support services to families. Chain Reaction funds will be spent directly on undertaking a major upgrade the 20-year-old hospice, bringing it in-line with modern medical support so they can support more kids and families, including teens and adolescents who are living beyond expectations.
A huge congratulations to all the riders on their fantastic efforts.
