Slattery have been part of the project team and sponsors for the University of Wollongong team in the Solar Decathlon held in China this year. The Solar Decathlon is an international university competition seeking out the most energy efficient and environmentally friendly house.
The UOW team took a common suburban timber framed house design and altered it to change the roof line, added solar panels, including water recycling and other environmental aspects. The UOW team took out the overall prize with the highest score ever recorded as their design included adaptive re-use as well as an environmentally friendly outcome.
