5 Martin Place, Sydney - Dexus & Cbus Property
5 Martin Place is of national and state significance as the original Head Office of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, its first building in Sydney. The property comprises a heritage office building over ten levels with associated basement parking and a ground floor banking chamber. The property has undergone extensive redevelopment incorporating a new office tower which cantilevers over the heritage building, resulting in a 19 level office building comprising circa 33,000m2. The building achieved 5-Star Green Star and features chilled beam space cooling and double skin northern facade. Slattery partnered with Dexus Property Group and Cbus Property to deliver this iconic project through a design and construct procurement path. The building is sited over the Martin Place to Town Hall rail line and the structural was designed to ensure the building imposed no loads on the rail tunnel. This included piering and bridging structures adjacent to key foundations for the tower. It has won numerous sustainable design awards.
