Today, Slattery hosted over 180 clients and friends for the annual Women’s Lunch in Melbourne, held at Metropolis Events on Southbank.
This initiative started 11 years ago when Sarah Slattery, Managing Director, sought to create a fun, engaging and empowering space for women to come together to network and celebrate. Now hosted annually in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, the Women’s Lunch demonstrates Slattery’s commitment to diversity, providing a vehicle for women to establish connections that will be instrumental in the future advancement of our industry.
The lunch also featured a presentation from Felicia Lase, Senior Quantity Surveyor who started at Slattery as a student. As an aspiring leader herself, Felicia delivered an inspiring and powerful message about the importance of shifting our ‘assumptions, biases and stereotypes of what a leader looks like’, because as women, ‘our differences make us powerful’; reminding the room that ‘someone else’s journey to success is not the only one’.
The growth of this event serves as a representation of how far the traditionally male dominated property industry has evolved; with more women than ever in senior positions.
